Welcome to the Gene Technologies Laboratory...
The Gene Technologies Laboratory (GTL) is a second generation CORE facility. Its predecessor,
the Advanced DNA Technologies Laboratory, was established in 1984 to facilitate DNA sequencing
and DNA synthesis. The GTL is a non-profit, core facility supported by the TAMU Department of
Biology and the Institute of Developmental and Molecular Biology.
GTL News and Notes
Applied Biosystems have instituted an immediate increase in the price of BIG DYE. Consequently, the GTL price for 100 reaction kits (800 microliters) will increase to $925.
The price increases are effective immediately.
BIG DYE PRICE INCREASE!
Good news and bad news.
Good News:
Sequencing prices at the GTL will not change prior to Sept 1, 2009!
Bad News:
Applied Biosystems have instituted an immediate increase in the price of BIG DYE. Consequently, the GTL price for 100 reaction kits (800 microliters) will increase to $900 and for 80 microliter kits will be $95.
The price increases are effective immediately.
Important MAC Sequencher Changes
We have updated the Sequencher Key Server so that all keys are controlled from one machine. This is to prepare for introducing a long awaited upgrade to Sequencher!
This means that all Mac Sequencher clients should update their Key Access Clients to use the IP address of 165.91.109.230. The Mac Sequencher server will be shut down at the end of the month, Nov 30th. For most macs on OSX, you can change the IP under System Settings and clicking the Key Access Client icon at the bottom of the window. Please let us know if you have any issues.
